Pintail Youth Ranch - About PYR - Goals & Objectives

The following goals and objectives are provided to give direction for future PYR decisions regarding programs, staff, funding, and ranch facilities.

General Goal
To ensure the acquisition, protection and enhancement of well-maintained, ecologically diverse ranchlands and facilities in order to provide a solid foundation for all ranch programs.

Objectives

To teach youths how to be productive, capable and confident individuals.
To encourage meaningful bonds of fellowship while maintaining individuality.
To develop high-minded men who accept responsibility for themselves and their actions.
To educate young people in the safe and proper use of sporting fire arms and equipment.
To interest young people in conservation and preservation of wildlife and their habitats.
To ensure each participant is afforded the opportunity to earn a college education.
To actively pursue the acquisition of available land for future ranch developments.
To address ranch-planning considerations that meet the changing demands of the active and passive outdoor recreation activities of PYR, including construction and operation of ranch facilities, environments and ecosystems.
To ensure that all ranch facilities and programs meet the most current safety guidelines.
To coordinate the use and development of indoor and outdoor recreational and educational facilities with community sponsors and partners, such as Dallas area Independent School Districts, Texas colleges and universities, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and other like agencies.
To search out excellent staff in the areas of funding, programming, marketing, public relations and ranch operations to produce a team that can effectively achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Pintail Youth Ranch.
To build friendships and alliances among the community and program members that will elevate the Pintail Youth Ranch TORCH™ program to status of benchmark.
