May 2007 Outing
The May 12 outing included instruction in gun safety, fishing, rifle & skeet shooting and concluded with a fish fry.  Although, it wasn’t a banner day for catching the earlier part of the day was spent fishing.  The banter was high and everyone had a good time.  After lunch a serious discussion and tutorial about guns and gun safety was held and the young men were introduced to a .22 long rifle and 20 and 12 gauge shotguns.  While it took sometime to adapt to the rifle in target practice the young men proved to be good marksmen.  On the other hand the four young men took to skeet shooting from the first throw and show great promise as future wing-shooters.

April 2007 Outing
As a team building exercise we visited Your Adventure, Inc. in Roanoke Texas to participate in one of their Wilderness Team Challenges, the Mountaineering Experience.  During this 4-hour exercise we discussed and learned to tie multiple knots which were helpful with the ascending and rappelling activities which followed.  The remainder of the day was spent utilizing our new knowledge to traverse multiple zip lines in, around and over "Devil's Gorge".

January 2006 Outing
The Pintail Youth Ranch held its first outing of 2006 on January 28-29 by hosting Benjamin and Andrew Schreiber at the Triple C Ranch in Terrell, Texas. Benjamin and Andrew, 16 and 14 respectively, are fine young men from a single parent household in San Antonio.

Although the camping portion of the trip was washed out with Saturday’s much needed rains, the weekend included instruction in gun safety and wildlife conservation and concluded with a successful duck hunt and skeet shoot. It is outings like these that are the core of Pintail’s vision for a better tomorrow.
